When I was asked to teach this canvas photo transfer project last weekend, I used my friend's samples in the class. I was also so caught up in the fun of teaching and helping my team members that I didn't make one of my own. When I saw how great the project turned out, I couldn't wait to make one for my mom and my soon-to-be mother-in-law.
The canvas was made for my beautiful soon-to-be mother-in-law. This is her with her two handsome boys (which she still refers to as her "babies"). Aren't they adorable? Once I transferred the photo to the canvas, I decorated it to coordinate with the white and blue decor of her new house. I stamped the "captured memories" message in the lower left corner and added white paper flowers, a white crochet flower, baby blue brads, pearls, and a white metal stamp-shaped embellishment to the bottom right corner. I also trimmed around the entire outer edge of the canvas with an iridescent baby blue ribbon.
This is the canvas I made for my mom with a picture of my daughter and my nephew. My mom actually took this picture of the kids in the back seat of my car with her new cell phone while we were driving to Utah to have lunch on her birthday. After I transferred this photo to the canvas, I decorated it by stamping "fun" in the upper left corner and "together" in the lower right corner. I added a few square shaped silver sparkles to the F in FUN. Because the "together" image wasn't standing out against the dark background, I traced over it with silver glitter gel. I then trimmed the outer edge of the canvas with a black and teal ribbon that will coordinate with the southwestern decor in my mother's house. I cannot wait to see her reaction to how I was able to make this gift for her by stealing a picture she posted to Facebook from her cell phone!
I had so much fun making these - I can't wait to make them again!
