Hello!

Just a little card I made last night using the Dakota paper pack, the Cricut Artiste catridge and burlap ribbon.

I Adore You

I ran across this card this afternoon that I designed for the open house I had back in February. Everyone who came got to make this card. I still adore it.

Command Center

My daughter and I had been talking about making her some kind of weekly calendar in a frame that she could write on and erase each week. When I saw that my friend and upline, Kim Moss, was making this project as a workshop, I was so excited to go make one too.

Kim had all the pieces already cut for us from the For Always paper pack, as well as a preprinted monthly and weekly calendar. I chose to stamp my accents from The Best Things stamp set, and "LEILANI" from the Glamour Uppercase stamp set. All of our pieces assembled beautifully in a 16"x20" frame. Then we attached a pen holder to the bottom to hold our Vis-a-vis pen and a decorated silver clip to hold her school calendar.

This afternoon, my daughter and I took it apart to add her photo. We also added some touches of cranberry by stamping the main image from the Love Doily stamp set and adding Pink Glitter Gems and Trinkets Wooden Shapes colored with cranberry ink. We had so much fun taking a beautiful project and adding a few of our own touches to make it match her room.

Looking Forward to a Pajama Party!

Online scrapbook classes are really not new, but they are new to me. I just heard that Close to my Heart partnered with Big Picture Classes, so I had to check out what this is all about. I am so impressed by what I have found. I am always looking for ways to challenge myself to improve my scrapbooking, journaling, and photography skills; and there are so many different classes on these subjects and more. Some classes are pretty cheap, others are a more costly series of classes over a length of time, and some are even free. I signed up for some of the free classes. I can't wait to check out 10 Summer Photos to Take Right Now!, Introduction to Digital Memory Keeping, and Kid Prospective. Do any of those sound interesting to you?

The other thing I learned is that Big Picture Classes is holding an online scrapbooking Pajama Party on Thursday, May 30 from 6-7PM PT! My understanding is that is it an online interactive video of a class where they will be showing a project. They say they will be sharing tips, tricks, interviews, projects - and giveaways. My understanding is that you can follow along and make the project with them or just listen and possibly chat online while working on a project of your own. Besides the fact that it is free, the best part is that I can take this class at home - in my pajamas! I'm excited to see what this is all about next Thursday.

If you want to join too, just go to www.bigpictureclasses.com for all the information.

Have you done something like this before? Will you be tuning in with me next Thursday? Please comment below and let me know what you think of this idea?

Mother's Day Cards

These are a couple of the Mother's Day cards I made for our moms and aunts...

Happy Mother's Day

I had so much fun making these gifts for our mothers this week.

When I was asked to teach this canvas photo transfer project last weekend, I used my friend's samples in the class. I was also so caught up in the fun of teaching and helping my team members that I didn't make one of my own. When I saw how great the project turned out, I couldn't wait to make one for my mom and my soon-to-be mother-in-law.

The canvas was made for my beautiful soon-to-be mother-in-law. This is her with her two handsome boys (which she still refers to as her "babies"). Aren't they adorable? Once I transferred the photo to the canvas, I decorated it to coordinate with the white and blue decor of her new house. I stamped the "captured memories" message in the lower left corner and added white paper flowers, a white crochet flower, baby blue brads, pearls, and a white metal stamp-shaped embellishment to the bottom right corner. I also trimmed around the entire outer edge of the canvas with an iridescent baby blue ribbon.

This is the canvas I made for my mom with a picture of my daughter and my nephew. My mom actually took this picture of the kids in the back seat of my car with her new cell phone while we were driving to Utah to have lunch on her birthday. After I transferred this photo to the canvas, I decorated it by stamping "fun" in the upper left corner and "together" in the lower right corner. I added a few square shaped silver sparkles to the F in FUN. Because the "together" image wasn't standing out against the dark background, I traced over it with silver glitter gel. I then trimmed the outer edge of the canvas with a black and teal ribbon that will coordinate with the southwestern decor in my mother's house. I cannot wait to see her reaction to how I was able to make this gift for her by stealing a picture she posted to Facebook from her cell phone!

I had so much fun making these - I can't wait to make them again!

Teaching My First Creative Class at a Dream Team Meeting

I was so excited to attend the Dream Team meeting last weekend. I was looking forward to meeting new team members, learning business tips from them, and making some projects on National Scrapbooking Day. Just a few days before the meeting, I leaned that my upline had to miss the meeting because she had to attend a funeral out of town. I was disappointed for her, but honored when she asked me to teach the class for her.

Here I am teaching the beautiful project to my team. I thought I would be nervous, but these sweet women made is so fun to teach. It also helped that the project was gorgeous.
It was a canvas that you can put your own photo on. I was so busy helping these ladies that I didn't make one for myself, but I plan to make many of them! Stay tuned here for pictures of the finished projects.

Happy Teacher Appreciation Day!

This is the card I made for my daughter's teacher for Teacher Appreciation Day

It is so much brighter and prettier in person than in this picture. I made it with Close to my Heart's Dream Pop paper pack, available at stampsnstuff.ctmh.com for only $10 with any $35 purchase - in May only. The sentiment is from the MyAcrylix stamp set Scrapbook Statements - Poets. The accent strip along the bottom is a piece of Silver Shimmer Trim. The finished card is 6"x6" and has been delivered to Mrs. Schroeder with my daughter's handwritten message "You are the most awesome teacher ever!"
